Croissant sandwiches with sausage are best!
I got a delicious breakfast sandwich here last weekend. My chai latte was a bit too sweet, but I still gulped it down. I've also had a good lemon poppy seed muffin here.
Apple turnover is well worth a trek through the snow!
Best Boston Cream Donuts in the city, good bagel selection. The coffee could be better but its a small price to pay for an otherwise solid menu.
I have gained three pounds just from their ridiculously good donuts. The coconut is okay but the glazed! My Gods, the GLAZED. Heller's makes the only chocolate donut I'll eat, too. *Homer drool noise*
Their pastries are heavenly. I have an incredible sweet tooth and their glazed donut was one of the best I've ever had. pecan pastry was delightful as well. I placed an order for a tres leches cake with under 24 hours notice and they didn't even blink. The cake was moist, had a hint of rum, beyond delicious, and fresh. The icing wasn't too rich and heavy which I liked. Their coffee isn't memorable (but then again they are a bakery). The service has been fast and friendly. Croissant Egg and Cheddar. Haven't found anyone in the district who does it better (and I'm a breakfast sandwich addict, so believe me, I've tried).
Good donuts, history (est 1928) and a nice neighborhood feel. Heller's hits the spots. Sometimes their service is a little spotty but I'm willing to overlook it.
Scored both the Bravo Just Desserts and ExELLENt badges here...if the delicious food and friendly staff aren't reason enough for you to check out this independent gem, do it for the badges!
