I have been coming to Hell's Backbone Grill every chance I get for the last twelve years. The lemony chicken and Jenchiladas are delicious and they make the only meatloaf that shall ever pass these lips. There isn't a bad item on the menu but the chocolate chili pot is truly transcendent. They were a locally sourced/farm to table restaurant before it was cool. Jen and Blake are absolutely delightful and provide a beautiful dining experience. The atmosphere feels more like dinner at a friend's house but with a Zagat rating.
Once took a beloved there for an early dinner. Server floated viola blossoms in our Kier Royale without any prompt. Superlative in. every. way. So THIS is the American West, people.
Love the vibe, I love the views and I love the food! It's easy to tell owners Jen and Blake care deeply about this place. It's my favorite restaurant, anywhere.

Hell's Backbone Grill was a wonderful breakfast spot that we stumbled upon during a recent convertible trip through Utah. Food & service were excellent & the ambiance was incredible. Highly recommend the Haymaker but everything was delicious. Don't miss this one - it's a real gem!!
We love this quaint restaurant in the middle of "nowhere". If you are in Boulder, UT or just passing through, you must visit this restaurant. Everything is organic and fresh. We stayed at the Boulder Mountain Lodge and this is right on the premises. We have been to this restaurant 3 times and will always include it in our travels when we are in Utah.
