Worst hospital in our region, hands down. Wouldn't take my dog there. My grandmother, possible stroke victim, has been there since 8:00 this morning and still hasn't received any test results or spoken to a doctor. It is now almost 2:00 p.m. If you have ANY options, go to an SIH hospital.
This hospital is a joke. The first time I took my youngest daughter in for an infection and they admitted her for 3 days and couldn't do anything for her except antibiotics which ruined any type of blood work that was done to find out what the problem was. I thought maybe giving them a second chance would be nice. Well my oldest daughter fell off the bed from jumping and we were worried about a concussion. Came to Heartland with massive abdominal pain which I thought was gall bladder attack. Turned out it was appendicitis. Fantastic surgeon checked and rechecked my radiology reports and diagnosis since I presented in a very unusual manner. Then proceeded with surgery the following day. Staff was great all around I appreciate so much the fantastic treatment I received. Thanks Dr Cynthia Buono and nurses Lucy, Shari and Rose who took care of me.
I gave birth at Heartland. I can't even express how happy I am with the care I received. From the time I arrived until the day I was discharged, I had an amazing group of nurses to take care of me and our baby. I loved how encouraging and positive the nurses were with me trying to learn to breast feed. They gave me plenty of alone time to bond with our new baby. Had graet people and great doctor. The nurse that checked on me all night was a wonderfull lady
Just experienced Carbondale Memorial ER, and was able to compare the two emergency departments. It was night and day.
