Ok, this is not just a "chicken joint!" In a city of some of the best food in the country, Heard Dat is one of the best! We almost missed it the place is so small, but we are so glad we didn't! We almost missed our chance to stop by, but wanted to be sure to try it and got our meals to go. Smelled so good, we opened up our boxes in the car to just take a little taste and wound up eating until we were full! Wonderful! Don’t pass on this hidden gem!!!
The food was incredible!! It was like having an expensive 5 star dinner but half the price and probably tasted better too! Definitely go if you need a good home cooked meal! And the service was awesome too! They should be next to the definition for genuine southern hospitality!

I had the SuperDome. This was hands down the best meal I experienced in New Orleans.
Baaaaaby! Let me tell you! I nearly hurt myself eating the Bourbon Street Love and those Crawdat fries....but wait Dat Shyt Drink (that’s what’s it’s called) was soooooo good...I had to order two! The service was fast and my family of 7 had all good meals for we ate a little of everything on the menu! My brother even went back for another plate AFTER we left! The place is small unless your eating outside I would suggest getting it to go. Other than that I have NO complaints!
It’s just what you need while visiting from another city! Love the food, people, portions!
