HPM is a wonderful property management company. Most other property management companies have so much bureaucracy, hard to get a hold of, slow to fix repairs, etc. I was a tenant at one of the properties. Before HPM came along, it was self-managed and the Landlord was very difficult to work with, especially with how cheap she was. But when HPM came along, it was a night and day experience with the house. The water leak was not repaired in a timely manner. Later, I discovered that mold had grown behind the drywall. I asked a renovation contractor to inspect it, and he confirmed that the issue was caused by the leak not being fixed promptly. As homeowners, we can repair our own property, but we were never informed about the leak. As property owners, we expect to have a responsible management company—one that not only finds tenants for us but also properly maintains and protects our property.

I had a very disappointing experience with this property management company. My security deposit was never returned even though I cleaned the unit completely before moving out. I also reported a bathroom drain issue that took almost two weeks to fix, which caused a lot of inconvenience. Communication was very slow and I felt my concerns were not handled professionally.I suggest that homeowners not entrust their property to them, because they don't care about your house -- they only care about their commission.
