A Cutting Edge Beauty School in Kansas Hays Academy of Hair Design opened its doors on April 1st, 1981. In January of 2003, Summer Melvin and Danielle Markley (sisters) purchased the beauty school with the vision of offering the students with an up to date, cutting edge education that will enable them to thrive in the beauty industry. In addition, they had a strong desire to offer the community with professional salon services at a very affordable price.

I was honestly weary of coming in for a hair cut at first with the thought of it being students who are in the process of learning still, but in the end I had no reason to worry! Courtney Campbell did an amazing job with the cut and she even explained to me a few things about my own hair that I didn't know before. She was amazing to work with even though I was a pain asking her to change the cut a bit midway through, she took all of my thoughts into consideration and made it turn out better than it has with any other stylist... read more
Courtney Nichele Campbell did a wonderful job on my hair!! I haven't been this excited about my hair in years! I was beyond impressed. This school teaches it's students to really strive for guest satisfaction and the well being of their clients needs and ideas. Thankyou for the best experience I've ever had in a salon!! ��
So far I've had my hair cut a couple times by Courtney Campbell and I like how they came out! I have very long hair and she was patient enough to make sure it was all even. She was welcoming and nice. She also did my first nose wax and oil reflections. The nose wax was quick and, in my opinion, pretty painless. The oil reflections made my hair noticeably healthier. Would do it all again
Absolutely love the atmosphere and the people. Sara Saunders is truly amazing, always leaving feeling pleased. Highly recommend
