A Cutting Edge Beauty School in Kansas Hays Academy of Hair Design opened its doors on April 1st, 1981. In January of 2003, Summer Melvin and Danielle Markley (sisters) purchased the beauty school with the vision of offering the students with an up to date, cutting edge education that will enable them to thrive in the beauty industry. In addition, they had a strong desire to offer the community with professional salon services at a very affordable price.

I drive 2 hours to get to Hays to Hays Academy of Hair Design. Whitney has had her challenges fixing a very bad haircut I received in May. She has done a wonderful job fixing the problem areas and my haircut is fantastic. Sorry I have been such a picky client but you have met the challenges. I will see you soon.

Paige did an absolutely amazing job cutting my son's hair today. He has a lot of anxiety about haircuts, but she made it fun for him. She made a target on the mirror and gave him a water bottle and let him shoot during the haircut. Plus, she gave him a great cut. Top notch!
So much fun to be with these girls. Abby Russell has been tending to my hair needs for awhile now. I love that I never worry about how my hair is going to turn out. She got to know my likes from the start and has just ran with it. She knows I'm not afraid to try something new and so she suggests new ideas. Love that she keeps me looking young.
