Since 1976, Hardwick & Sons, Inc. has been run by two of the Hardwick brothers, the eldest, William Dean and the youngest, Dean James. I rarely need/ use a hardware store because I am utterly talent-less in home improvement... :) But for exactly that reason I go to Hardwick's...and have for 30 years now. They are ALWAYS most helpful!. There is no comparison in Seattle!
This is a tinkerer, do it your self, project, vacation destination..
An Aladdins cave, not sure what the Fire Department makes of it! An original that hopefully has some sort of preservation order on it because they don't make them like this any more. My husbands absolute favorite and its first on the tour for out of town guests. If you cannot find it here you don't need it.
They have everything. Worth the extra penny for quality goods not to mention supporting local economy

The first time I went here I ended up getting lost in looking at everything they have... for 4 hours! When you can't find whatever hardware store item you're looking for, go to Hardwicks, as you're sure to find it there. Great second hand selection as well. I check back regularly for old kitchen knives and scissors for restoring at Vulcan Knife. One of my favorite sites in general, one that I have to plan to have AT LEAST an hour available when I go there.
