I for one would like to thank y'all very much for flying our beloved Confederate flag out front for everyone that was born and raised in the south to see! I can't support a store that displays the confederate flag under the guise of a proud heritage. More like a racist oppressive heritage. Not a place I want to promote my local business.
That post about your reasons for flying the confederate flag is ridiculous. Of course people honked and waived, because racists live everywhere, even Franklin. To insist on flying a flag that you know to be a symbol of racism is disgusting and I refuse to support a business that is racially insensitive.
The owners of Handy Hardware decided to display the Confederate battle flag on June 26, 2015. While I support the owners right to free speech, I think that this kind of display is misguided and does not represent our community values. I will not return as a customer.
