Worst dining experience I've had in Portland – Waited an 1 1/2 hours for a table. When we arrived at the table, it was still dirty. Food arrived after waiting for another 45 minutes. The steak was over done and bland. The waitress never checked back with us during the entire meal and I had to get up, walk back to the front of the restaurant to find the hostess so that I could pay. If you're looking to pay high prices for terrible service and mediocre food. This place is perfect.
Always good, occasionally astonishing – Few weeks back had their grilled Copper River Salmon. Unquestionably the best I've ever had. The fare at HSG never disappoints, but on many occasions, it is hard to believe how good it really is. The service is great and the whole experience is unpretentious. HSG has put an end to my circling for a parking spot in Northwest.
The perfect business lunch spot – Constantly hopping, the Hall Street Grill is awesome for a power lunch. Well-prepared entreés compliment a high-energy atmosphere that helps to get things accomplished. The drinks hit the spot too, especially at happy hour. The prices don't always seem to match up with the dishes, but at this level of quality its not often noticable. A must-visit for white linen diners in Beaverton.
Great – I am constantly hunting for great prime rib and Hall Street has the best in the western suburb area. It's a salt aged prime rib which gives it a rich taste. As with most places rib can be hit or miss, it's usually guaranteed to be the freshest on the weekends. The blue cheese salad is simple but terrific as well. I would recommend this restaurant to friends.
A Beaverton magnet that attracts a crowd with dependably good food and a lively bar scene. – The Scene Hall Street feels vaguely upscale, but looks faintly dated. The sangria-red theme and black leather booths recall an era when dining rooms were extravagantly appointed and food fussily presented. Still, diners love the updated menu. They come in large groups, frequently after office hours, to join a boisterous crowd or simply soak up the happy-hour scene. Hall Street is my Cheer's... – Hall Street with its fine dining and wonderful happy hour is a treasure and over the past couple years has become more like "Cheer's" to me and most in my office. Maybe it is also because the managers name is Sam? What ever it is Hall Street is a secluded place for all to relax and enjoy.
Hall Street can really shine – LOVE this restaurant. GREAT food and drinks. OUTSTANDING service. An OASIS in an area dominated by chain restaurants. BUT for Happy Hour...get there early or don't bother. Folks tend to "park" and it's impossible to find a seat past 5:00.
Good Location – for me that is. But the price is a tad stiff for me to visit as often as I would like. The food and atmosphere are decent, as well as the service. It's my impression, after several visits, that their specialty does indeed rest with their grill entrees. I am not sure what the previous person is talking about as far as having a hamburger at McDonald's price during happy hour???
A Great Happy Hour Menu – Hall Street has good food, good service, and a very nice atmosphere. Though it can be a bit pricy. Where Hall Street shines is at happy hour. The happy hour menu has some of Hall Streets best food offerings at an incredibility frugal price. The hamburger on the Happy Hour menu knocked me out. It was very, very tasty at a McDonalds price. If you want to try Hall Street fare without breaking the bank, give happy hour a chance and be sure to give their French Onion Soup a go.
