Let's start at the beginning. The original neighborhood joint was opened in April of 1994 in Snider Plaza, Dallas. It was not a seafood restaurant, but a coffee bar called Michele's Coffee Bar and Cafe. Bill Bayne was a regular breakfast customer at this little coffee shop in Snider Plaza. He thought the place would make a great oyster bar and asked the owner if he would be willing to sell the restaurant. RecommendedDelicious snow crab and shrimp. My son said the tacos were great. My husband is not a fan of seafood and the Andouille Chicken was not good, so wish they would have a couple more land lover options.
We have been going to Half Shells since the day they opened. Even though they have had price increases during the years, we have continued to stay loyal. However, their menu changes ( no blackened rainbow trout) and the prices have made it difficult to continue dining there. I will miss it.
Great seafood and service. Sometimes the wait is long because the place gets crowded but that's because the food is so good.
If you want the best food with the best music and atmosphere and excellent service you have to go here!
The Staff is fabulous and the food is very tasty. We love the gumbo.
