We been in this house for a year now. I wish we could give the house back to Hakes and go with a different builder. Shoddy work and poor customer service has been an ongoing theme with this company. All of the floor and bathroom tile work throughout the house was very poorly done. Failing grout, damaged and hollow tiles, and raised/sunken tiles abound. We have had them in our house at least 5 different times to fix the issues but they keep sending people that don't know what they are doing and end up causing more problems. ... read more
Would not recommend them. Poor framing and roofing. Foundation poured incorrectly. Blow outs on all sides of the house. Framers were lousy. Split wood used though out the house. Framers obviously did not know how to use a hammer or nail gun, Nails missed their mark and split the wood. Wall installed backwards, j bolts missing or not even there on almost every wall, Joist hangers missing. Gaps between boards on roof. Always had to come back and "fix" things. Don’t recommend them!!! There contractors suck! They have horrible painters! The interior decorator not the owners wife another lady we worked with was terrible! Made so many mistakes! Find another builder!
If I had a choice not to give any stars I wouldn't ! Hakes Brothers Las Cruces is a joke, their customer service, their staff everything are a bunch of no good clowns ! Our experience with Hakes building our home has been nothing short of a nightmare and stress and let me tell you the higher ups in management do not care one bit . Love our house. We have been in the home for four months. A couple small issues but warranty was handled in no time. The staff and craftsman are amazing. We used Hakes contractors for some personal mods after we moved in. Amazing work. The price we paid for our home was very reasonable. Again, very pleased.
