Worst customer service – One of the worst experiences ever. Angie was the lady that applied the color to my hair, she was great. The color itself with out bleach, haircut or style was $100.00. After one wash the "permanent" hair color started washing out in weird places. I went back in less than a week of the first application and had her re-apply the color on two sections due to washout. DON'T Get Your Hair done by Jessica – I have gotten my hair cut twice at hairplay. The first time was pretty good, the second time AWFUL! Jessica was my "stylist", more like a butcher actually. She started with my bangs, which I said I wanted at a VERY steep angle. The first snip she made with her scissors cut them almost completely straight! Just okay....not really.. – My coworker and I made appointments together at 1 to get our hair done, once I was brought back I showed the girl "Tessa" a picture of how I wanted my hair, and she took me for a shampoo, which was great, and then she cut my hair, and whined the whole time about how shes been sick and how expensive the medication was, and then she told me how she did jury duty the last 3 weeks and only got $25 a day, and kept whining about money. horrible – Requested to have a dark/brown hair color and they did red-orange at the roots, streaks of black everywhere and dark brown the bottom! I could have done a better job at home. The charge? whooping $195 plus 4 hours of stress! I tried to resolve by showing the boss what a terrible job hairstylist done to my hair- humiliated me by saying get out! and there's nothing they can do about it. Great – I'm a guy - so I dont really care who cuts my hair there. Normally the wait is around 10 minutes. Sometimes its longer.. But if I ever want to go shorter they get me right back in free of charge.

I don't recommend going here... – I've been going to this place for about 10 months, so for not good. Here are some examples: First of all, don't ever go here for elumen. Elumen is supposed to be permenant; when I went here for it, it lasted 3 weeks. $250 for a "permanent color" and a cut- which they also screwed up on the cut. Secondly, parking is VERY limited and cramped. Most likely you'll end up blocking out someone, since you can only park in front of the building or to the side. Very Happy with my hair – first time there. been to allure and beauty room. really love hair play now. had some sketchy results at my last salon and was really scared to go get my color done again. ive been to 3 different people for my color now at hair play and have had great results each time. the prices are cheaper than my last place. i still paid almost 200 for cut color and hilite tho. but if your gonna pay for it, you mite as well be happy. i am. cut was 30 color was around 150 and wax was 20 the guy at the desk was a ... read more

Great place, especially if you NEED to be a walk-in – for such a high traffic salon, it's possible to be a walk-in most days, weekends are a little more difficult but it can be done, especially if they know you're having a "bad hair day" and just "have" to get your mojo back. (I always feel better after my hair is done). Best place in Alaska – I've been going to Hair Play since 2002 and have seen atleast 5 different stylist for my color. I've been happy everytime. I had a normal stylist who moved out of state and have kinda bounced around ever since. They really know what there doing and whats really cool is that since Ive been to so many people everyone knows me. They all say hi and collaberate on what color I should get this time.
