Dr. Schaaf is a very good Doctor. He explained the procedure and showed me exactly what he was going to do. Spent plenty of time with me and made me feel at ease. I would recommend him very highly.
I was referred to Dr. Schaaf in 2008 by my family doctor when I was having serious pain in my left knee. At that time he was with the Phoenixville Orthopedic Associates, PC in Pottstown and Phoenixville, PA. The level of professionalism and care that I was given at that time made an immediate impact on me and I felt from the beginning of the first visit that I was in good care. My medical issues were addressed and after a minor surgical procedure I was able to continue my normal activities
Dr.Schaaf is a very professional surgeon with excellent bed side manner. Very personable. My experience was very good - total hip replacement.
Dr. Schaaf was awesome when it came to diagnosing and treating my hip. He fully explained what he saw in the x-rays and how we should go about treating it. After several attempts at rehab and an injection in the area, he recommended hip replacement surgery. Everything went smooth and my recovery was complete. I would highly recommend Dr. Schaaf to anyone thinking about hip replacement.
So very personable to meet with and to discuss the options to alleviate my hip pain.... almost like talking to a friend. He certainly presented a knowledgeable game plan for performing hip replacement surgery and what to expect in the months thereafter. I could not have imaged a better Doctor to perform this surgery and highly recommend him and his staff.... .truly grateful for such a professional and his many years of experience.
I had a total knee replacement and am very pleased with the results. Dr. Schaaf explained the condition of my knee, what he would do to repair it, and what to expect afterwards. His follow up care was excellent. The staff were all kind and knowledgeable. Everyone took time to answer all my questions. It was such a positive experience I am getting ready to have the second knee done!
I was in a lot of pain due to other issues and was originally scheduled for hip replacement in September. I was cleared for surgery early and Dr Schaaf was able to move my surgery up to July. Surgery went great and I was back walking in 2 1/2 weeks with little pain. Highly recommend Dr Schaaf.

A previous orthopedic surgeon was most concerned with my age rather than quality of life. My family doctor recommended the Rothman Institute. Dr Schaaf listened to my concerns about not being able to do the activities I love and performed a total knee replacement. Every step along the process was explained thoroughly. His progressive philosophy of using self administered physical therapy through videos is working great. I am 8 weeks after surgery and am walking normally and doing stairs.
