Blah – Icky trendy club - super stiff door - even with friends on the guest list with comp passes from the PROMOTER

What New York has lacked in the nightclub scene – Gypsy Tea is the only nightclub in NYC that has remained selective as well as chic among the dozens of nightclubs that have opened this year. Although selective at the door, they set the standard for what New York City lacks in nightlife edge. I went with a group of friends, was greeted kindly at the door, and found the service to be a cut above the rest. I highly recommend Gypsy Tea.

Best club in New York City – Although tough at the door, this club offers the friendliest service in the city once you get inside. The door policy might upset some, but ensures the highest quality crowd in the city. Sound systems are fantastic and the decor beautiful, really has a lot of energy and is great fun.

BAD IDEA!!! – The doormen are very rude, obnoxious and disrespectful. Showed up with a group of about 15 people for a party that was set up in advance with guestlist and all, and were refused entry because the doorman would only let a "selected few" in. The club is definately not worth the hassle they front at the door and not worth the time. If you are looking for a good night out, I would leave Gypsy Tea off your possible places to party.

Horrible.... – They allow you to set up a guest list for a party... you show up and they say "We have to be selective... only 8 of you will get in... Im not letting the rest in." ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Extremely unprofessional, rude, overrated place. Don't waste your time....

$900 & drinking out of Plastic – 9 of us went on Saturday night and dropped $900 on 2 bottles of Grey Goose at a table. The service sucked. They brought over 4 glasses and then when we requested more brought over plastic cups for the rest of the group. The attitude driven waitress walked away and said sorry thats all we have, not even taking a second to discuss with me. They allow every shlep into the place it was packed with anyone who wanted in. The layout sucks as well as there is far from enough room with so much bridge ... read more

Don't Waste Your Time – This new bar was extremely overrated with very rude service at the door. The line was long and security guards refused entry when the bar was completely empty downstairs and less than half-filled upstairs. Add that to the overpriced and barely strong drinks and you have a very undesirable bar. I would not recommend wasting your time with this place.
