Need new management, great music and bartenders!! – My first 30 minutes in Gypsy Tea were horrible. I went to Gypsy Tea on a saturday night. Me and 4 of my girls had a flyer that said free until 1am and $1 shots until 1am. Truthfully thats why we went, we had never been there, decided to check it out and who doesn't want a few $1 shots? They gave us a hard time at the door about the guestlist and the flyer and getting in free, but after about 10 minutes we did all get in for free. (There was noooooo line, that was a plus!!!!... read more

Greedy bartenders – A friend and I went to Gypsy Tea for a supposed Reggae-Soca night taking place on both floors of the club. We got there around 11:45P to my surprise we actually got in before 12A, and no one even asked us to pay or about a list, although we were on one. I know it was early for a reggae club, but when we got there, the bottom floor was occupied by another type of crowd, playing pop and dance music. Both parties shared the downstairs coat check, which was out of control and very unorganized, with a rude sta... read more

AFTERHOURS SPOT – This place is not for Friday or Saturday nights......one of the best afterhour spots in the city. Best be there around 6 am 2 have a good time will usually run till noon.....Plenty of couches to lay around, decent dancefloor and very dark.....good place to close out a saturday night....This is not a fiffy spot and do not expcet to be treated like royalty.....go there to have fun with your crew....If you think 20 bux is too much to enter a club you probably shouldnt be going out.........

HORRRIBLE... i agree with previous reviews. – I went to this place on a friday night. I had to pay $10.00 despite the fact I was on a guestlist that stated ladies were ree by 12:30am in which i was there by that time... well for that price... it was totally not worth it. I brought a drink which was expensive.. teh crowd was wack and the main music they were playing was spainsh music. I have nothing against it.. but i was like hey wheres my regaee,hip-hop,80's,r/b, and rock? i mean not everyone likes spanish music. I left and... read more

Worst place... – This place has no respect at all. I went to this place with 3 girls and they charged $100 for 4 of us. (yes even girls had to pay) Place is just a small match box... sound system is just a disaster... my computer speakers are much better. I would like to make an official complaint about this place. If anybody knows the Clubs authority in New York please let me know and we will write a letter to them.

Packed with only Ok music – Ive read the reviews of this place after already going a few times, club does get very packed I have to say. First floor does not really have space to dance unless you dance in the isle where everyone has to pump you to walk past. Bsmt has a traditional dance floor but is smaller and doesnt play the same good music. The Dj doesnt allow the whole song to play, but more cuts to another track half way through. I would say if you are going with a group of friends and buy a bottle/get a table you will ... read more

Terrible Night Out – This is by far one of the worst spots I've been to in NYC. The staff was incredibly rude. We were on a guest list that was supposed to run til 12:30am. Guys were supposed to be 15 bucks to get in and girls free.. well we got ther at like 10 to 12 and wiated for a friend. We walked in at 11:58 and the girl at the door said the guys were 20.. i went and told the bouncer that he gave us the wrong tickets and his reply was "Sorry it's 12:01 am and we changed the guest list rules.. guys are now 20 after 12" S... read more

great music, the crowd was ok – I absolutely LOVED the music. They play a mix of hip hop, 80s, rock and oldies. My friends and i had such a great time dancing. But the crowd was unimpressive and the cover was 20 dollars.

I recommend checking out Gypsy Tea on Friday nights – I must admit that I was intially turned off to checking out Gypsy Tea by reading the reviews on here but being the person that I am, I decided to check it out anyway.. and I'm very happy that I did. Being a native New Yorker who is pretty familiar with the nightlife scene, I know that with most clubs and lounges in the city, each night is different. So, with that in mind, I decided to go. Firstly, Gypsy Tea has to be one of the most beautiful clubs in the city. I loved th... read more
