I recently had surgery at Gundersen and my experience could not have been more positive and uplifting. My pain was well-controlled and ALL staff were extremely kind, compassionate, and competent. My family and I received extraordinary care. I am a RN and thus am very aware of how things work in a hospital, this place is definitely top-notch. :) Shout out to the staff on the pediatric unit, you were all a blessing during the tough days after surgery--THANK YOU!!

It seems like GH is trading patient care for revenue, at least that is where they a focusing their efforts. The pervasive attitude from the minute you walk in to when you leave is how much money can you give us? Take a look at most employees badges, they all say "REVENUE CYCLE" on the front. Doesn't that just advertise what's important to them these days. It didn't used to be like this, patient care used to take priority but not anymore.
What used to be one of the best hospitals I have ever been to has turned into yet another greedy American corporation. Gundersen Lutheran Hospital now only cares about dollars, not people. In an age when most working class people have no money due to stagnating wages this hospital that used to work with us now ignores us and just sends everything to collection agencies. Delivered my daughter here in 2013. The only complaint is the midwife who induced me was something else...I will refuse her if I ever have her again, but the delivering midwife and the midwife I had through my pregnancy were excellent. They also saved my husband who had undiagnosed type 1 diabetes and almost went into a coma. Staff seems more worried about where they park for the day than they do about their patients! It's rather sad actually.
If you go in for pain you get treated like a drug seeker or junkie!
