Great food but the attmosphere is overwhelming. Only here a month each year but we will make this a regular stop
Every time our family or friends come visit us we always take them to Gristmill River Restaurant & Bar! The atmosphere is excellent and the service is impeccable and I must say the food quality keeps us coming back! Thank you!
We were with a very large group. The service was very prompt, the servers, very courteous, and the food was delicious!
Is a great restaurant! Great atmosphere, wait staff, drinks and food! Had filet mignon, a jalapeño margarita and a strawberry shortcake. Can't wait to visit again!
Enjoyed a delicious lunch at The Gristmill while passing thru Gruene from Austin to San Antonio. Our waiter Denton was outstanding in helping us choose from the menu and was attentive throughout our meal. Beautiful views of the river during lunch. Would definitely return!
The atmosphere was really cool, but the seating left a little to be desired, with tables and seats too close together. Our server was a doll!! She and the grean beans and baked potato salad were the best things about our visit. Our rib eye was cooked medium-rare, as requested, but unfortunately, very tough, and our bucket of beer was filled with warm beer. Again, our server saved the experience!! Overall, we love Gruene and look forward to going back and trying some of the other dining options 😀

Such a nice evening spent prior to watching my long time friend accompany Curtis Grimes on the fiddle across the way at Gruene Hall for our 8th wedding anniversary. Thank you for the memories!
Love this place the atmosphere is beautiful don't go when it rains tho bc you could be stuck outside lol other then that awesome place !!!
