Good atmosphere,extremely long wait, not completely impressed with the food taste.
I've been here many times and had my first bad meal. The selection of four sausages was only one type of sausage which was awful, no sauerkraut to be had and potato salad so lacking in flavor that I was dumping every condiment on the table over it trying to evoke some taste. I'll be back because the ribs are amazing. I just know better now than to venture out of my safe space on the menu.
Friday night, 6:15, 6 of us andonly about a 15 minute wait. Tuna steak is outstanding and the ribs, which aren't on the menu, meat falls off the bones...delicious! Highly recommend eating here!
There was 13 of us for our Company Christmas Party. The service was on point, never missed a beat. Wonderful setting in a perfect tourist town!

The service is fantastic, the food is homemade, the atmosphere is historic and there isn't another place that can compare in Gruene. Others may try to replicate the Gristmill, but they all fail. Outstanding place!

I always enjoy dining at Gristmill River Restaurant, the atmosphere is awesome, yesterday I ordered a steak and it was not cooked to my liking or as I ordered it to be cooked. The waiter was very helpful they recooked it, but by the time I got it my appetite was no longer there. I'm sure I will go back, but will not order a steak😩
