From the excellent I've music in the outdoor waiting area to the unique leaderboard style waiting list to the incredibly attentive wait staff to the delicious food - the Gristmill was a top notch experience in "lazy day" dining. The only thing that would have made it better was if we had a table for the two of us at the edge of the lower level deck overlooking the river because that would have made it perfect ... - wait we did have that and it was perfect! Highly recommend this is a must return location for us.
Waited over and hour for table and food was not that good my sandwich came out cold and service was horrible!

Fantastic Texas atmosphere and food, has become almost to popular. Didn't have to wait over an hour for a table 30+ years ago. :)

Hate waiting for a table?? Not at Gristmill! Live music, cocktails, beatiful scenery! Waitstaff was friendly and knowledgeable. Food (preparation and portion) was fantastic! Glad we had a cooler loaded in the trunk for the to go boxes while we enjoyed the reat of Gruene! Will definitely go back when visiting Texas!
Awesome place to go at any time. Beautiful scenery, great food, great service, and nothing if not relaxing.
Very disappointed that everyone in my party got their meal and finished it before I got mine. Nothing was ever said except a weak apology. It ruined the whole experience. Then the waiter did not give any one dollars bills in change and I felt obligated to leave him a larger tip than what was deserved.
