It’s got a bit of a speakeasy feel ...down the stairs you find a horseshoe bar...nice & dark with fast & friendly bartenders and servers ...it’s a bartenders bar. This is not a corporate b.s. business and that’s one more reason to love and support it. Grendels is as “local” as it gets...the staff is local, the feel is local and in my opinion...in the age of “Cambridge gentrification” we have a duty to keep places like this alive. RecommendedRecently moved to Harvard from abroad and have done a bar crawl a few times in the area and still I recommend Grendal's for atmosphere particularly if, like me, you enjoy sitting at the bar and conversing with others. Great tunes, beers and the bar guy (Russell?) is a friendly and talkative chap that deserves a beer. Cheers! 🍻
