The best thing about this airport is the approach road coming in from I-85 - very nicely landscaped! (and also a nice Shout-out for the nice parking prices). But otherwise this airport needs some serious amenities updates. There are no decent food and drink options past security and their is only one set of restrooms on the B concourse, forcing one to walk very far from your gate seating area to find a restroom. Really disappointed in the patrols at GSP tonight on New Years Eve. All outside lanes were full of people parked waiting for people and there was no where to let my sister out of the car to get to her outgoing flight. When I finally found a spot to pull over by one of the garages (there wasn't a no parking sign there) a cop came by and gave me a ticket. Seriously? There were bumper to bumper cars literally parked in the no parking lanes waiting for people and I get a ticket for letting my sister out to get to her plane. Not ... read more
The GSP Police officers and TSA staff are great at getting the job done in a cheerful and positive way that will not ruin your day (unless, of course, you're hiding something). The terminal is impossible to get lost in. Ticket Agents are helpful and friendly, skycaps are tops! Rental car agents are great. Best of all they have Southwest Airlines! I travel from OKC to Hendersonville, NC from time to time, and now I always use GSP in lieu of AVL. The experience is much better.
