Tired of his 5 a.m. forays, a young farmer decided he had milked his last cow. He conceived the idea to build a roadside sandwich stand. This sandwich stand on Somerset Pike (Route 985) in Jennerstown evolved into the Laurel HIghlands landmark it is today, known as Green Gables Restaurant, a Wine Spectator award winner. RecommendedAn absolutely breathtaking wedding venue!
My husband and I went to a wedding here over the weekend. The place is spectacular and gorgeous. We had a wonderful time. The only negative thing is that there was no a/c. It was raining off & on so people were in and out and it did get quite warm with all the people there. Other than that, I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
We went for our 20th Anniversary and loved it. Our waitress could not have been nicer. The cocktails were great! Highly recommend the Peach Moscow Mule. We had a small issue with our champagne - but it was quickly replaced with a different bottle. Appetizer was fabulous. The scallops and steak main course were cooked to perfection. And the Creme Brûlée was excellent. It had been decades since we were there - can’t wait to go back!
awful...no air conditioning, overpriced, steak was flavorless and not prepared as requested, waitress was rude, the bread was chewy...the building is nice but it was way too hot and we will never go again
Had dinner there last night. A little concerned as the place has no A/C. However the tree coverage and fans made it quite comfortable. The food and service was amazing. Well worth the trip from Pittsburgh.

Ryan Edmondson and I stumbled upon this gem today after some hiking in one of our facorite spots! We were the only guests there for a late lunch to enjoy the gorgeous dining room. Graham and the dogs napped while we celebrated our 2nd anniversary! The chef made me an amazing cauliflower steak on the fly. � �
I love the place. Been there about 10 times. All seasons. Very clean place. Great food. Great service.
