What started as Central Arkansas' favorite catfish house in 1970 has returned better than ever with fresh seafood and all your southern favorites. We have been to Grampa's many times and was glad to see them open in Maumelle. Always had great food and good service. Today was very different. After being seated, we waited and waited for a server. People came and went still no service. A dark haired waitress waited on the table next ours and several around us but not a word. Ok we weren't in her area. Could she not tell someone? After roughly 30 minutes we take our menus to the countet and return them. The nice man tells us "thank you " and we ask for what.

Service was excellent. Can't say that about the rest of it. Food was nothing like the old place out the other side of Sherwood. Fish and hushpuppies has no flavor at all. Crazy pricing that a two piece dinner was $4 more than a two piece poboy. (which had fries just like the dinner.

My absolute most favorite place to eat. I love Love LOVE the blackened grilled shrimp with the sautéed vegetables and hushpuppies. I eat there every chance I get.
