VERY RUDE!! I went looking for Wedding dresses this past weekend. The first place I went treated me with Red Carpet Service. The second place I went was Gowns By Design. We made an appointment ahead of time and we were approximately 10-15 minutes early. Immediately we got an attitude from the older lady at the counter. She did show us around the store and explain where each designer was. They offered zero help hooking the strapless bra (not an easy thing to do by yourself). Very Rude I came in twice to look for an veil, the first time to try them on and the second time to make a final decision. The second time I came in, the saleswoman actually argued with me about what veil she thought I said I liked the first time. I wasn't about to let her convince me to buy a veil I didn't like, and when I stood my ground and did not agree with her, she rolled her eyes at me and walked out of the room in a huff! Great! Super Cheap and beautiful classy dresses! The staff was really friendly and nice to us. All the dresses I tried on were really nice, and fit really well after some adjustments (I am an XS/ 0-2 in dresses and about 5'5, and most of the sizes there were average size 10 which was huge!). They always helped me to literally put stuff on and were willing to listen to me. I found my dresses for about $5500 which is way under what I was expecting to pay. Great Selection and Accessories! This was the second bridal salon that I visited on my hunt for the THE dress, and I found it. My mom, three aunts and I made an appointment in the evening and it was wonderful because we had a lot of privacy and we practically had the store to ourselves. The associate that helped us was "Debbie" and she was wonderful. She was kind, understanding and VERY knowledgable. Best Bridal Salon in Central PA!!! I love love love this place! The staff is extremely professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. All tailoring is done on site by one of the owners and she is amazing with altering your gown to look just perfect. They have a lot of selection and are happy to special order gowns as well. I loved them for wedding gowns but I do have to admit the bridesmaid dresses were pricier than I wanted to pay. We did go elsewhere for those. I have never felt so bad about myself The gowns were adequately normal at best. The sales lady that day, Bobby or something, was one of the worst people i have ever met. she was flat out awful. she told me i was obese ( im a 6), she was rude and argumentative with my mother and friend, told me i was probably too poor to afford anything, kept telling me my choices were bad, wouldn't let me try anything on more than once, and much more. i can't believe anyone would buy anything from this lady. at this rate they will be out of ... read more
terrible! I was very unhappy with gowns by design. I made an appt and as soon as I walked in, the lady was very uninterested in me. Acted like we were wasting her time. Went over the designers and such but was very unfriendly. She did not acknowledge my mother or aunt and seemed completely annoyed that they wanted to see the dresses on me. Rude and PRICEY I am a young (22) bride, I went here.. and basically wasn't offered much help at all. I guess they thought I was just a joke. They hardly said 2 words to me. I just got married, so I was serious about looking for a dress. I didn't see any moderate priced dresses. If your young or on a budget, I wouldn't recommend!
Scam artists!!!!!!!! SCAM!!! I thought I had an ok experience until I got my dress. I'm a bridesmaid and we had an appointment with the store to try on dresses. When we arrived the sales people weren't rude but not particularly helpful. They seemed annoyed we didn't know you had to order bridesmaid dresses 5 months in advance.
