Expensive, and rude rude rude employee I was in a few days ago to look at bridesmaid dresses. I called the store and the woman I talked to told me I could come in without an appointment to look. We were greeted by a perfectly nice woman. I looked around at the dresses downstairs (there were none less than $200) and asked the nice woman what was in the upstairs room. RUDE!!! I was in there looking for a prom dress, I'm 16 years old and in 11th grade, the youngest saleswoman wouldn't help me at first until my mom told her we needed help around the store. when i was trying gowns on she seemed very opinionated and in a hurry. excellent I went to Gowns by Design to just look at what they had to offer. When we came in with no appointment Bonnie told us we are lucky there was a cancellation and took us into the bridal room. She sat down with us asked about the date/ them and what I want in my dress. She walked us thru the shop and spent allot of time with us. She was very personable and made the experience fun. RUDE RUDE RUDE Gowns by Design was the second store I went to when looking for my dress. Although I made an appointment, the woman seemed too busy to help and basically sat at her desk until I told her I NEEDED her help to get dresses off the rack. She was not very helpful in suggesting dresses and made rude comments to both my mother and myself. I'm not sure if she was just having a bad day or if because I am younger (24) that she did not take me seriously, but Gowns by Design is NOT a place I would suggest anyone shop at.
extremely pricey bridal store Gowns by Design is an extremely pricey bridal store. The gowns are pretty and their shop is nice, but I think their prices are out of line. The shop is an old house that has been converted. They have a lot of gowns, but they are pretty packed into the store. The dressing rooms are very large and nice. Most gowns seem to be around $2,000. They also have bridal accessories and bridesmaids gowns. I thought the employees were pretty cold and none too friendly.
Good Choice for a Beautiful and Elegant Gown I am from Northern Virginia where the gowns are very pricey and not that great of material. I came to Gowns by Design to first look at dresses and found one I loved. I then took time to think about it and look at other bridal shops in DC and Virginia. Scam artists!!!!!!!! SCAM!!! I thought I had an ok experience until I got my dress. I'm a bridesmaid and we had an appointment with the store to try on dresses. When we arrived the sales people weren't rude but not particularly helpful. They seemed annoyed we didn't know you had to order bridesmaid dresses 5 months in advance. Helpful, friendly, knowledgeable This bridal shop is the most helpful and friendly shop we visited. The dresses are not just like all the rest, so are not the ususal $99 dresses. They are all knowledgeable about fabric as well as alterations. We would and have recommended this shop to friends. We had attendants from 3 states and all were treated well with several appointments being necessary. Give this one a try, the atmosphere is beautiful also. Very Helpful and Reasonably Priced!!! I just purchased my wedding gown from them 2 weeks ago. You should make an appointment, just like any bridal shop, but they are busy on Sat. I had individualized attention and you can tell that they truly love what they do. All the girls in the shop were helping me pick the perfect dress even though they were busy also.
