An out of touch stooge who does not realize the reliance that Austin and many major Texas cities have on undocumented labor. If he were to allow ICE to expand its operations, and actually deport everyone, I know at least Austin's service industry would collapse. For someone belonging to a party that loves money so much, it's surprising he'd shoot himself in the foot. Figure it goes along with the common republican tendency to burn the whole house down to spite the other guy.

Concerned about the state funding cuts due to non-compliance of no sanctuaries and possible cuts of federal funding. Why should those in need of the programs 'pay' for the beliefs of some? Isn't non-compliance a form of insubordination and should come with personal consequences to EMPLOYEE(S) of the state who do not comply?

Austinites have told you they WANT to remain a "Sanctuary" city because it will make us safer. Instead of blackmailing the Sheriff please remember you are on taxpayer's payroll. Blackmailing cities and it's citizens is profoundly un- American and reminiscent of Iron Curtain tactics. Try to consider the will of your emplyers, the people , before "safety" goes out the window for good.
