Texas is the second-largest state in the United States. It covers more than 268,600 square miles. Spain was the first European power to lay claim to Texas and the state also flew the flags of France and Mexico before gaining its independence in 1836. Texas borders Mexico along the Rio Grande and embraces mountain ranges and canyons to the west; lakes, plantations and pine forests to the east; plains to the north; citrus groves, Gulf of Mexico beaches and low-lying alluvial plains to the south; and rolling hill country and cl... read more

Too slow only talk No Action The killing of innocent people must stop. Action must be taken, justice for those who can no longer speak. Make it Plain to all no matter. You break the law, justice will be served. There are steps to be taken immediately to make the schools safe, don't talk, do them now, not a year from now.

First of all Congratulations and I pray you do your very best for the State of Texas. Second, I'm a College Student in Texas and most of us were very disappointed that you allow students to have guns on Campus! Very bad idea considering most kids don't have a clue when it comes to guns. We've seen what happens when kids use guns!!! Third, if you don't address the problem with BULLIES on campus and on Social Media, we are going to see more threats and dead students and staff!!! The Teachers and Administrators don't seem to ha... read more

Nearly 2 million people own guns in Texas, what are you going to do sir?. I believe in prayer but it's going to take more than that. I cannot believe that politicians let them self be controlled by special interest groups.

No parent wants to believe they are a part of our problem with mass shootings, but we’re all to blame. We have contributed to the delinquency of our children by letting them be exposed to the depravity of the internet and video games. If we were to buy a seven year old a handle of vodka we would be in trouble but we don’t suffer any consequence of buying them a violent video game called Fortnite. We need laws to make us better parents.

Are you kidding me...even 1 star is too much for this HACK! Take your 1920's era beliefs of womens rights, gun control, and a multitude of other public policy here in Texas and leave office for GOOD!!!

A moment of silence does nothing because you do not want to do anything! You do not care about our kids and school safety!

I don't believe school safety can be improved by any rational new "gun laws." Calls for various "bans" and confiscations seem nothing more than political posturing in an attempt to run Republicans out of office. The bizarre phenomenon of children attacking schools and killing their classmates is new. Dissecting and addressing the social "causes" for this behavior is important but making effective changes in society or parenting will be difficult and painfully gradual at best. Our courthouses, government buildings and other p... read more

The Governor is occupying an office. That's it. He has done nothing to improve the lack of affordable healthcare in Texas, funding for education or protection for workers. Texas is at the bottom of rankings in all three areas.
