The restaurant has an old-fashioned, family-style décor. The menu offers several cuts of beef, including filets, T-bones and New York strips. Steaks are served with house salad, potatoes and a side of pasta or green beans. There is dancing and entertainment on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

Okay steak, mediocre at best. I ordered the ribeye and while it was cooked well the cut itself was not very good. It was about 1/4" so on the thin side and it was obvious they are serving grain fed beef rather than grass fed beef and it was a bit greasy. I have eaten better steak at chain restaurants. The service was hard to endure, the waitress was incredibly loud, crass,and very flip about answering questions about the menu. And so so slow. Hugely disappointed in the food. Steak not cooked to order, and tough as nails. There must be better steakhouses in Omaha.
When I was a kid we celebrated every report card at Gorat's and it was my first favorite meal, still the best. I was back in town just a few years ago and dinner was exactly as I remembered it -- if I make it into Heaven I'm having a Gorat's petite fillet, green salad w/the homemade Italian, baked potato and side of spaghetti! Love the remodel, congrats to Gene Dunn and the whole team.
Worst service ever. Waited for over an hour for food.. ordered a glass of wine (waitress suggestion) never received. MR Ribeye was MW NY Strip. After waiting that long for food I wasn't going to wait longer for another. But hey my dog loved it. On a positive note, the green beans, baked potato and salad we great... and the water. Oh ya, my dog also got most of my husbands T-bone. Ive had better food at Outback!
