I have rental property and use Goodman units in them, as well as in my own home. I have furnaces last over 20 years with few, if any, problems. I have been using the same installer for over 20 years. Occasionally, I must replace a capacitor (a/c) a fan (furnace) or a control board (furnace), but not very often. I'm replacing a furnace now that had the fan motor go bad (it trips the breaker) instead of replacing the motor (it is 23 years old). I would not recommend purchasing an HVAC unit from Goodman Manufacturing. They do not stand behind their products nor do they care about their customers. I have a unit that is just 6 years old and one year out of warranty. The coil evaporator needs to be replaced and because I am no longer in warranty I was told that I could not purchase one of their parts because they are reserved for warranty covered customers only. Puchased a ***** Goodman Heat pump three years ago. After only 2.5 years of service, condenser coild began to leak in severeral places (as confirmed by ultraviolet dye). Good man replaced coil but does not contribute anything toward labor or replacement of freon. Labor and Freon cost me $975.00. Instead of making good on their defective products, Goodman ***** chose instead to spend the money fight the formation of a a "class" in a class-action lawsuit.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to read about the issue with your Goodman HVAC unit. The Goodman Manufacturing warranty applies to only parts under the standard warranty for the first five years after installation. If the unit is registered, the parts warranty does extend to ten years. However, the warranty does not cover labor. I have a Goodman/Asure 10 year parts and labor no charge signed contract. Install 09/16/09. The evaporator was replaced on 07/05/2012 through Goodman by ** ***** ********** who installed the original unit. The evaporator failed Sunday 07/23/2017. The repair ac company was told that the evaporator was not covered. (remember I have a signed contract). I contacted customer service at Goodman and spoke to Litisha who seemed helpful and was told every thing was covered. I asked verification so I could notify the repair company. A... read more

More bad news. The ***** coil from the manufacture has a 10 year parts only warranty. I decide to pay my ac guy to replace It. He would charge labor only. They check with Goodman since this is a coil made by ***** for Goodman. My ac guy was told they did not have any and and it would be 6 weeks before they did. THIS WOULD PUT ME WITHOUT A/C FOR 2 MONTHS. I tell my ac guy to find a good coil and replace it. I have now spent several thousands of dollars but am cool again no thanks to GOODMAN.
The evaporator coil of my Goodman A/C was leaking Freon. My contractor was unable to replace the coil, because Goodman was unable to provide a replacement coil. I had to replace my entire inside unit at greater expense than a replacement coil.
