After 5 years of nothing but trouble with a brand new ($3500) Goodman Air Conditioning Unit, the unit completely failed this year when we started it after the winter season. This unit was installed by a certified installer and we were advised that the unit must have been defective from day one, hence the reason for the repeated need to "jump start" the unit and the numerous failures and repairs needed since new. TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: I am very upset about my unit. I have an ***** 2.5T PKG Gas 14 Seer 60K 1 PH Serial # ********** Model # ************* Install Date 7-24-2015. I have had the Dealer come out 4-5 times now for a faulty unit I have already had the blower motor replaced because it was faulty and was causing a short that was turning my heat off, and now the compressor burned up in it. 3 1/2 ton heat pump installed in 2011. 02/06/2015 'inside coil' replaced due to Puron leak. Worked until 09/06/2018 when we found the 'inside' coil had again developed a leak and would have to be replaced. Goodman claims 'warranty' but installation still cost over $400.00 each time.
We have brand new unit installed in our house, and it stopped working two days later. After three more visits from ac techs we were told that unit is faulty and needs to be replaced. Than good news is that it will be covered by warranty, the bad news-we live in health hazard condition, with record breaking heat wave in California. We also had to find some alternatives to bring temperature inside the house to at least 84 degrees and electrical bill went up to the roof. I bought a new home with a Goodman unit. Within the first year I had to have the coils in the air handler replaced. One year later I had to have the accumulator replaced. Called Goodman and they told me they will only replace the parts and not help with the $1,000 in labor to have the parts replaced.
Hello - our Goodman Central A/C System failed on Thursday and it is less than 2 years old. The Compressor Terminal failed although the system still looks like new. We are disabled with chronic health conditions and high heat (such as the heat in our home since Thursday) makes our illnesses worse. We are in Slidell, Louisiana - the heat and humidity is insane here. We were sold a Goodman AC unit July 1st 2010. We discovered that their 10 year warranty really does not cover much. Summer of 2012 we had a leak in the coil inside the unit. Not covered. Last week of June 2018, this unit experienced another leak inside compressor unit. So again no real coverage offered by the 10 year warranty. We have been told that AC units should last 16 years. Goodman MFG. is a horrible company in my opinion. My experience has been terrible. A Goodman manager who is still with the company verbally promised my AC service person a ten year parts and warranty on my coil because we had so many problems with the unit from buying a new house in 2010 with the Goodman unit. My service person wrote Caffey's verbal promise on my registration paperwork. I should have insisted that the promise be sent certified mail by the company but I trusted my installer completely and he said he knew Mr. ... read more
Purchased a Goodman HVAC system 5 years ago. Signed a contract with a local installer that indicated I was getting a 10 year parts warranty from the manufacturer. After 5 years and 4 months the draft inducer motor failed on the unit. After contacting Goodman about the part for my unit they said the unit was no longer under warranty and that I was supposed to register it online 60 days after it was installed to get the 10 year parts warranty.
