Builder installed 2 heating/cooling systems by Goodman (*****) in our 3-story house in Delaware. When we took ownership of the new house we were told to fill out all the warranty cards which we did. Unfortunately we were unaware that these HVAC systems required an online registration which happens to be extremely unfair: If you register within 60 days, you receive an additional 5 years of warranty. I bought my home brand new and the air conditioners were installed when it was being built. Nobody mentioned the 60-90 days to register the units and we actually didn't know until four and a half years later when we had to have work done on one of them. I don't think it's fair that we weren't made aware by anybody that we had to register our unit to get our 10 year warranty. We thought it was automatic. My A/C went out on my newly built 3 year only house. Called the repair company and he said the compressor was shot. While the "part" was under warranty, it would be $800 dollars labor! Again, my house is only 3 years old. He also said that Goodman had a run of cheap compressors and have had this issue. He then said they had to re-order one direct from Goodman and it would be 7-10 days. It was 105 degrees out with heat index. I work from home and have my 78 year old father living with us. Purchased a new home in November 2014 with two Goodman AC Units (2 story house). When the units are working they have been fine. After 3 years and 10 months I replaced the capacitor to the tune of $160, though it was under warranty. Obviously the part was discounted but they did not cover the cost of the labor, along with a part deductible. Case# ******* This company does not honor warranties. After calling to file a claim on our air conditioner unit, additional information was requested. We gave them everything they asked for. After information was given they then asked for a receipt of purchase. Who has a receipt for an air conditioner that was installed when they built and bought the house new? Should be able to have "0" stars or negative stars! Installed 2 Goodman AC units in late 2009 in a new home construction, found out last week that the larger unit has a bad evaporator core coil. Was actually low on refrigerant 3 years ago but ac company could not find the leak - even with dye & black light. Should be under the 10 year warranty but since the installer who said everything was registered, and put the paperwork inside the unit. I have a brand new home of which I have lived in for less than a year ( and the first to live in). My A/C unit is no older than two years old (***** and is still covered under the warranty. However, I had noticed that our unit was not cooling adequately during our Texas summer. Concerned, I had spoke to a customer service representative with Goodman Manufacturing. Hi! I had a Goodman heat pump/ ac unit installed about 1 1/2 years ago. All of the coolant leaked out via a faulty evaporator coil that had to be replaced. There was a small leak and slowly we lost ALL the refrigerant. The original installers came out and replaced the coil which was covered by warranty but to my shock the replacement of the refrigerant was not. We purchased our home brand new in October 2014. The AC Unit was manufactured 3/2014. Barely 5 years later, our condenser unit failed without warning. We were told by the repairman that the condenser unit and coil had to be replaced. I verified warranty coverage through Goodman's website and the unit is not covered. A unit should not fail within barely 5 years of being manufactured. Goodman, please make this right. I can't afford to replace the unit at $4,200. Quality products should last longer than what we got out of it.
