The prices and selections used to be better. Whatever happened to open faced Turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce? Also, they used to have half a sandwich special that came with a cup of soup. They should never have changed the menu.
Great food- we always bring friends and family for a hearty, sit down meal. My husband and I order the same things every time (he the tastefully tender, me the hot turkey sandwich). He was disappointed when our waitress brought out Heinz 57 tonight instead of your steak sauce. She said it was discontinued. Why?
Such great memories of The Good Steer! My sister & brother-in-law used to take me here on weekends from 1976-1983. Best onion strings, fries and burgers I've ever had in my life. Sometimes I like to visit the FB page to re-live the great memories and food I used to have here. :) I'd jump on a plane from Houston just to eat there again---of course I'd have to stop off and pick up my sister and brother-in-law in Austin. Save us a table Good Steer...one of these days we will be back!
Just an awesome place. Food is great service too
Been going here for years! Love it! Whenever my kids come back to the island, it's always " let's go to the Good Steer". That & NY bagels are what they want. We always have great burgers & a fun relaxed dinner.
