For those New Yorkers who yearn for a taste of Vermont without leaving the city, Good Enough To Eat satisfies with down home decor and simple comfort food. It is incredibly popular for brunch, with lines around the corner; however, the food is not really good enough to warrant such a long wait. The small space can also get crowded for breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the week.

I came here after a long day at the 'Museum of Natural History' just coming for a bit to eat. I heard about this place from Sutton Foster (it's one of her faves!) When I got there, it was pretty busy so I decided to eat outside. The menu seemed to have healthy food (for the most part) and pretty cheap so I was pretty impressed. I ordered the 'Migas' - scrambled eggs with tri-color tortilla chips, cilantro, onions, roasted bell pepper and velveeta cheese, served with a side of sour cream, salsa and two flour tortillas (instea... read more
Delicious Home Cooked Meals – wonderful brunch and warm and hearty dinners. can be crowded on the weekends, but one of the best nyc brunches around. low lighting and eclectic country decor make the dinner experience top of the line as well!
RUDEST WAITRESS EVER – Let us forget for a moment the food that they serve here. Let's talk about the RUDE staff. I came in to catch up with two of my best girl friends whom I haven't seen since they have been traveling. I came in with my Yankee fan gear because I was just watching the game the Yankees had with the Toronto Blue Jays that day. The waitress looked at me from head to toe and said, "miss you really can't sit here, because you see, this is a passage way." Okay, that's fine. But the restaurant was not full at that... read more
Great place. – Met with an old friend here. When I called to make a reservation (they don't take any) I was surprised to reach a voice menu. I left my name and number and was surprised when the manager called me back from her cell phone explaining how she was on vacation and so could not take my call. Loveliest gesture ever! She also have recommendations of what to order. Their freshly squeezed tomato juice was superbly fresh. The migas I ordered was tasty and the ice cream felt genuinely home made. A good brunch place.
Service was great...food was not – I took my bestfriend here for a birthday breakfast, and was surprised to find a line outside (it was about 55 degrees), where we had to wait 20 minutes for a table. The first problem was the horrible coffee, followed by the dry and flavorless banana nut pancakes. My omelette was okay, but the "biscuits" they serve with them are nothing more than what you find in the bread aisle of the supermarket. To say that I was not impressed would be an understatement. Our waitress was great, but I most... read more
MMMMMM – This place is perfect on Sunday mornings. The neighborhood knows this, so go early as locals will flock to it
Impressed by a juicy burger – I ordered a burger, with additional cheddar cheese. I was seated outside for there's no room inside and it was a very hot day. However, burger was GREAT! Bun was toasted and still hot. The beef petty was juicy and well-cooked. It was a mouth- watering and until now. Waiting deserves it.
Good Food, Bad Service – The food is very good, especially Deep South, Chili, and the Cheese Board. The service is terrible. DO NOT GET IT DELIVERED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Average Entree Tasty Cake – After hearing about Good Enough to Eat while waiting in line at another renowned brunch spot months ago, I finally made the trek up to the UWS for a weekday lunch. My fellow diners and I ordered a breakfast quesadilla and lump crabmeat pizza as they were both specials, as well as a macoroni and cheese. Unfortunately, the quesadilla was on the small side (6 inch diameter) and tasted mediocre (sausage, egg, peppers with GETE salsa and sour cream). The pizza which I sampled was tasty but rather dough... read more
