Perfect stop for the train enthuiest. I hope to bring my grandson here.
If I had more time, I'da stuck around longer. I was stoked to learn that they allow tripods - a must when using a 600mm camera lens. Any true railfan could spend many hours here.
This is a worthwhile stop for locals and tourists. Informative Union Pacific railroad history and interesting unfolding action from a towering vantage point. You will observe switching activities at the largest train yard in the world. I'm so glad I stopped.
What an awesome display of power. Just imagining how cool it would be to have a basement large enough to build this and then be able to just reach into this picture and place each unit where you want it. Ah yes, dreams.
Interesting & unique. History of the railroad, North Platte canteen of WWII fame, the orphan train etc, plus the workings of the largest railway switch yard in the world.
