I spent two weeks at GVC for an externship during my fourth year of veterinary school in June of 2018, and absolutely loved my time at the clinic! I worked mainly with Dr. Johnson, but was able to spend a few days with both Dr. Leudke and Dr. Mease as well. All of the doctors were eager to teach, friendly, professional, and all provided their own clinical insights of 'real-world medicine.' I externed with GVC for three weeks this summer after finishing my second year of vet school. They have a great team that I really enjoyed working with. Everyone is very layed back and always willing to help you learn. I spent the majority of my time working with Dr. Johnson, who is a great mentor. From a fractured coffin bone to dental work, to vaccines the knowledge, compassion, and patience demonstrated daily by the Team at Glenwood Veterinary Clinic is tremendous! I continue to have extremely positive experiences at GVC. My horse and mule are so fortunate to be clients of Dr. Johnson. He is extremely skilled and knowledgeable and is a pleasure to deal with. The equine facility is first class and the staff is great. The vet techs are very capable and well-trained. It's well worth the hour and a half drive from my home!
My husband and I lived in the area for 15 years and during that time GVC was our choice of veterinary clinics for our horses, dogs and cats. We had the great pleasure of getting to know so many professional and caring docs, staff and interns. The team saw us through the many ups and downs (mostly ups) of animal guardianship for which we are forever grateful. Our dogs say Dr. Rocky Mease rocks, and the horses loved getting to know Dr. Sam Johnson.
We had our first appointment today with Dr. Johnson at GVC. This was my first visit to the vet with our somewhat temperamental rescue dog that we've been lucky enough to have in our lives the last year. I was very nervous going in, but the entire staff made the process painless- both for dog and mom! I don't feel like they recommended procedures that we "may or may not need." to earn the extra buck. Straight shooters, down to earth, genuine people. Highly recommend!
Dr. Johnson is the best! He took care of Cash after he cut his paw open while we were hiking. I called the clinic right as they were closing and Dr. Johnson said he would stay late and wait for us to arrive so he could see Cash. He even called to follow up three days after the visit.
