Gittleman a very well run company` – My wife and I have been a resident managers with Gittleman Management in a southwest metro suburb for the past 5 years. We started with this company not knowing a thing about Gittleman Management or property management. We put out trust in this company to provide us a positive work environment with a company that did what it said it would do. Our experiences with the leaders and all central office staff have been much much better than we ever expected. They have exceeded all of our expect... read more
Very Pleased – I am a current Board member (elected by owners/residents) sand have lived at The Carlyle -- a 265-unit downtown Minneapolis high-rise condo development -- for four years now. As both a resident and a Board member, I am very pleased with the job Gittleman Corp. has done for us. They are extremely knowledgeable and professional, provide numerous essential "behind the scenes" services to The Carlyle Association, and provide great help to the Board in dealing with a myriad of complicated issues -- operational as w... read more
Incompetent, untrustworthy, hopeless – Gittleman Management runs our association and its deplorable how they have been able to manipulate board members into shutting out the needs of the very homeowners they represent. In the beginning, most of the original owners were so outraged at the developer for delivering far short of the highest standards promised that many owners were willing to take legal action, but as soon as Gittleman got control of the board it wasn’t long before homeowners were in the dark and being ignored. I... read more
Worst ever – I have lived in two Gittleman buildings for more than 22 years. They are horrible.... horrible...horrible. Where do I even begin? The posts here are spot-on. I think corrupt is a good description of them. While they are suppose to get 3 bids according to most association rules, they get them from their three "preferred" contractors. I am sure they get kickbacks all over and for every item of work that happens in your building. That's how they keep their association fees "reasonable." They make all their money on... read more
argh – This organization is VERY CORRUPT. Their economic aptitude is less than stellar. Their forceful tactics make people leave. Simple economic minds will think they are doing good. However, it drives down the property values. This only leads me to believe that Gittleman is in it for the short term gain, and they are not there for the long term homeowner.
Restrictive policies – As an owner, I find management and homeowner policies extremely rigid and unnecessarily restrictive. I've never owned a condo before but felt it was a good fit for us this time around. We are in constant conflict with the manager of this facility over simple issues like garage space, lack of additional storage spaces, switching from paper bill to autopay (still hasn't happened since we requested it 6 month ago), hidden fees, and most of all, a total lack of privacy. Security seems more to protect and e... read more
Who runs the property? – We used to have a great property manager. We came back from our winter home and found a new woman holed up in the office who doesn't want to do a thing for you. She doesn't seem to know what is going on and has problems resolving the simplest request or issue and sends you to the front desk for everything. Rumor around here is that the last manager ticked off a penthouse owner and was dismissed - and they replaced her with someone who should be renting out section 8 housing. Who is running our buildi... read more
Avoid at all Costs! – Quantity not quality is the game at Gittleman. They manage 280 buildings in the metro. WAY WAY too many given the number of employees they have. Everything is fee based here. They may have reasonable up-front costs but they pass the buck on to the residents. $125.00 for a copy of the budget and rules/regs for resale disclosure!!!! Extortion!! Astronomical late fees on hoa dues and additional ficticious "Attorney" fees on top of that! 48 hour response POLICY (they get back to you in 47 hours on all inqui... read more
Gittleman Property Management – I've lived in three Gittleman managed properties and all have been buildings older than 15 yrs old. Cosmetically, and I believe mechanically, the buildings 'seem' well managed, but I wonder if the large repairs on the buildings are really needed, and I wonder whether the biding process is truly honest. To me, it appears that often the same contractors receive the bids to do all the work; and thereby are the cono owners perhaps paying more for projects then might be necessary. Another concern I... read more
