About this business

The drive of the culinary entourage at Girl & The Goat gets its inspiration from the persistent animal that is now their not-so-concealed mascot. Specializing in locally-sourced and organic produce, this restaurant follows the farm-to-table philosophy to the tee. Vegetables, seafood and meat are cooked up in fun, imaginative ways, minus the compromise on variety. Going by the name, the goat dishes are sure to tantalize your taste buds. While the menu changes with the season, the vibe remains unchanged. The exposed beams, woo... read more

Son and I ate at Girl & the Goat over the Columbus Day weekend. Son is training at Great Lakes Naval station and I was visitng him. Fortunately, he has always been an adventurous eater. G & G was great. It was a larger venue that I anticipated, with a virtual army of employees. Our service was stellar from beginning to end. The restaurant has an offbeat take on ordering, AFAIK. An epicurean's delight . . the creative fusion of flavors and siloed options of veggie or meat dishes make this a dining experience like none other. Need to resurrect the fantastic and rare wines by the glass though

Special. The food was prepared perfectly, and everything from the green beans (a must order) to the goat empanadas. For you solo diners out there, Chef takes care of you, allowing you to order half portions, which allows you to try more things than if you were to get full plates; I suggest this option. If you have a chance to snag a reservation, do so. It will make your day brighter, your stomach happy, and your palette sing.

Goat empanadas had amazing crust and the bucatini was delish. Calamari wasn't my fave, but try it just for the bread...you'll buy a few loaves the following day. Hardest working kitchen and wait staff I've ever watched

Exceptional. The attention to detail mixed with the unorthodox complexion of the dishes is always amazing.
