About this business

The drive of the culinary entourage at Girl & The Goat gets its inspiration from the persistent animal that is now their not-so-concealed mascot. Specializing in locally-sourced and organic produce, this restaurant follows the farm-to-table philosophy to the tee. Vegetables, seafood and meat are cooked up in fun, imaginative ways, minus the compromise on variety. Going by the name, the goat dishes are sure to tantalize your taste buds. While the menu changes with the season, the vibe remains unchanged. The exposed beams, woo... read more

Great for the young people, they love the lots of small plates. I'm older and don't care for weird food items.

We sat at the bar, great service, interesting wine list. Can't believe there is actually goat, and other weird animal parts, on the menu but as a vegetarian, I appreciated the vegan menu. I think the kohlrabi salad was the best salad I have ever had. I would return just for that.

Worth all the hype - cool atmosphere, awesome that we can see into the kitchen and that at least half the chefs are women (yay!), and DELISH food! We especially enjoyed the pan fried shishito peppers and grilled Walter's chicken!!

We had a party of five with one vegetarian. We ordered ten plates and bread. All but the Vegan pasta were outstanding. Standouts from the vegetarian column were the kohlrabi and beet salads, from the fish column the shrimp dish and escargot ravioli were amazing. From the meat column, the pork shank was unbelievably tender and delicious. We had two interesting deserts with the coffee pot du creme the star. Well worth the wait and even with plenty of wine the meal was a good value relative to the quality.

Food was OK, but not outstanding (not worth waiting for two month for a reservation). Restaurant was cold, even with a sweater and a shirt I had to ask for my jacket, because they said they couldn't influence the heating system. Service was pushy at the beginning and when we needed time to read the menu it took forever until we could order. Very loud place, but that will be called vibrant. There are better places in Chicago.
