go to another VET Dr.Balzer is only somewhat o.k at giving shots, not if your pet is sick. Her attitude stinks from time to time. She makes rude comments and unfortunately, she isn't even on top of her game. She and her staff can be rude at times until you let them know that you refuse to tolerate it
Called Crying, Left Smiling I can't say enough about these gals and guys. I called Crying on Wendnesday around noon, and My Cat Lover was in their office being triaged by 2. We thought for sure he was going to have to be put to sleep, as we had been dealing with him having a very agressive cancer in his arm, for about 6 months, and it refused to go away, after removal of the lump (also performed by Girard Veterinary Clinic). Great Clinic, Great People This vet clinic is the best around. Both of the receptionists are very knowledgeable and very kind. The vet techs are very thorough and Dr. Balzer herself is a one-woman show. The only complaint I have is that there is ALWAYS a wait. But other than that, kudos GVC. Keep up the good work!!!
The Clinic/Dr. receive a 3-star rating, the technicians receive 5-stars I became familiar with the clinic through a rescue in South Philadelphia. Not being from the Brewery Town area of Philadelphia I was unsure of the ability of the clinic due to the unsavory neighborhood. Disapointed in Dr. Balzer ethics Cheap prices but Dr. Cynthia Balzer is more concerned with making money than saving a life. I live in Lansdowne, I have a vet 3 blocks from me but chose to go to Girard because a friend recommended it to me. I dont have a car, work in center city and Girard is closed on the weekends. Dr. Balzer refused to send/fax a prescription to my next door vet because she wanted me to buy the prescription foods for my cat there with her. Now, I dont know much but I'd say a Vet's priority is to save lives... read more
Going Down Hill... I could not recommend this clinic. It is going downhill and quick! I have been taking my pets to Girard Vet for over ten years. As time has gone, there is less care about the animals and every care about money! Inconvenient hours. The vet is pretty good, loves animals but only does the necessary tests for sick pets. The tag-team receptionists are uncaring and disrespectful and seem to enjoy their efforts at being rude to pet owners. Not to mention the new $38.00 cancellation fees. And that's PER PET! Girard Veterinary Clinic is a 10! what a breath of fresh air!!! great customer service...well organized, clean, caring. wow...top on my list of all the vets I have ever been to. I took our kitten here for spay. they were cheerful, helpful, efficient. I would go back there again and again.

GVC Rocks My Sox!!! GVC is a great place to take your pet, my only gripe is the wait, other than that A+++!!! Keep up the good work guys!!!
