Oh my gosh! Amazing food and great service. We will definitely be back when we visit the area again. Fish dip was incredible!
We took our family out to Gilbert’s about a month ago and they blew our socks off! The southern collards were mouth watering, the fried Green tomatoes were superior to all the others I’ve tried! But the Shrimp & Grits (which I’ve searched for something comparable to South City Kitchen’s in Atlanta for years) Chef’s were the best I’ve ever had! We went to Gilberts New Years Eve to have takeout for the traditional black-eyed peas, collards and pork and so glad that we decided to have lunch there too. Their shrimp and grits are the best I've ever had! Creamy sweet garlicl, local shrimp - EXCELLENT! My husband had an andouille sausage dish with collard green and field peas which he really enjoyed. Amazing experience!! Food is authentically fresh and tasty!! Was a party of flavors... Such a wonderful evening and we had a group dinner and all of our guests were amazed! Fantastic staff! They will make you feel like home! Congrats to Chef Gilbert!!... Btw, I come from Mexico and I can't wait to recommend this place to all my friends!! This place is a gem! I love country food but Gilberts Underground Kitchen just did not win me over. I ordered brisket, collards, field peas and sweet tea. We were seated right by the bathroom. I found it hard to believe they had sitting 3 feet from the bathroom door. GROSS There was a display shelf right by our table and due to this shelf being in the way one of us had to actually stand up and move everytime someone had to use the bathroom. Brunch catered today from Gilbert's, We were literally licking our fingers! Every taste buds was satisfied. Best Bar B Que Ever.
A wonderfully, warm atmosphere. Very clean. Accommodating, and attentive employees. Phenomenal food. Hands down (Gilbert’s social on southside too) the best bbq, and food in general, I’ve ever had. Unique, and delicious sangria menu to top it off. We were too full for dessert, but I imagine it must be just as tasty! If we had the funds to eat here every week, we’d be there. Ten stars. ���
