You may or may not get answers to your questions on the Facebook group, which is the ONLY way to contact GF. Not ideal for those who don't use or prefer not to use Facebook. The GF website is quite helpful but didn't answer all my questions and when I tried posting them in the group I got maybe 50% answered. I spent the better part of 2 days refreshing the page hoping for answers that never came. Very disappointing experience and a waste of time.

I generally love the General Finishes gel stain BUT this stain looks NOTHING like the photo represents. It the carbon gray gel stain and I did it on cedar. There is NO brown in it like the photo shows. Not 100% happy with this but I’ll have to get use to it I guess. I just want to make others aware of the difference in color since it is a more spendy stain.
I definitely recommend this product- I researched and spoke to sales people at Rockler Wood Working Store ( Minnesota) also Utube videos. We had solid oak doors and wood work in our home. I wanted to uplift and change them out since we were changing our trim etc to Bone White. Followed the prep and treatment and applied several coats of Java Gel Stain and just love my doors and railings - the solid oak was expensive when we built and kind of dreaded expense to purchase all new 6-panel doors - this product and process was the... read more
