Inexplicably, Dr. Duffy was very aloof and seemed totally uninterested in discussing surgery for my painful, deteriorated hips. He recommended pain shots, and, after about 5 minutes, turned me over to his PA to give me a cortisone shot. This was followed by a series of cortisone shots, none of which helped. Through his PA I found out that Dr.Duffy only performs posterior hip surgery instead of the newer anterior, since he knows this procedure best, and anterior hip replacement requires a very long learning curve. I needed a Knee Replacement. He was extremely professional, and a wealth of knowledge. I had surgery on Jan 28.2019 I am six months out now and very well healed I am back to my activities in full force
I went to Dr Duffy about knee replacement surgery. He told me he would not touch me because I have Rheumatoid arthritis and a pain pump. He did both of my dad's knee replacements and he has had nothing but problems with them. I figured I would talk to him but I am glad he refused because I had Dr Redmond ( in the same practice) do the surgery and it could not have went better. Zero stars for Duffy and 100 stars for Redmond.
Dr. Duffy is the best orthopedic doctor. When he saw me I had been in pain for over a year as many doctors thought it was my back. He knew it was my hip and wanted to try cortisone shot and therapy, but nether helped. He scheduled my surgery and his staff was very thorough with me. My husband was involved with the class we took and all the testing I needed prior to my surgery. The day of surgery Dr. Duffy promised me no more pain. He was so right. I have had several orthopedic surgeons in my life and Dr. Duffy is by far the best! He has been my doctor for 10 years. His diagnosis and prognosis have always been 100% on target for me. He is incredibly knowledgeable and can explain complicated knee issues in layman's terms. Also, just because he is a surgeon doesn't mean he jumps to the answer of surgery immediately.
