Table trouble! I have NEVER written a negative review of a restraunt before, but our experience last night was awful. We decided to stop there on our way home to LaPorte from Chicago because we had heard a couple of people say it was a good place to go. When we got there, it was about 6PM and there were a couple of parties waiting for tables ahead of us. They said we'd have to wait about 35 minutes or so. Dirty, Dirty! Sadly I am forced to give this awful place one star. The food was horrible and service even worse. The place had an awful smell and looked as if it hadn't been cleaned for weeks! I've had the pleasure of eating at several "real" Brazilian Steakhouses and Gaucho's is nowhere close in quality, cleanliness or service. Save your money this place doesn't deserve your business.

My new favorite restaurant I can't tell you how many places I've tried steak and it's all so disappointing because it all tastes so blah. Well not here. I am officially hooked. Not only does the steak taste incredible, it's always hot because the Gaucho's keep bringing more right off the grill. And the chicken and turkey is my wife's favorite. Overpriced AVOID Overpriced for low quality, the seafood was good, but the beef was not not anything to write home about. The salad bar looks better at any fast food place - they might have a chef but I doubt it- worse meal for the many that I have had in years! AVOID!
Unhappy birthday girl I went to Gaucho's tonight for my birthday, I had booked reservations 3 weeks ago. I have been so excited i couldn't wait to try a new place. I was SO DISSAPOINTED in the food. Awful! Please read the reviews and trust what they have to say! My family tried this restaurant today because we had purchased Restaurant.com gift certificates for it. As one of the other reviewers said, it looks like it could be a gentlemen's club from the outside. When you get in the restaurant it is dark and dingy and DIRTY. It smells like a stale ashtray. Don't waste your money Went there for my Birthday with family in April- waited this long to get over the disappointment and a clear head. We were set in the rear of the dinning room where it was extremely dark and hot. they actually had to bring a fan out. I would never recommend going with a party of people they just can not handle it. Gaucho's sucks I recently move to Valpo and was excited to eat at a Brazilian Steakhouse because all the ones I have been to were great. This place however, is the exception. I even ate there for my free birthday meal. My boyfriend paid about $30 for his meal so we figured about $15 for each of us plus tip was a ripoff!
