Very Tasty Authentic Indian Food. – I tried the Chicken Tikka Masala and Saag Paneer from this place and it is one of the best I have had. Their Garlic Naan are also exceptional. If you are used to eating India food on a regular basis, then I would reccommend ordering the food Spicy or you might find it too bland.
Best Indian in LA – Yep. Everything is delicious, and they have probably the best lunch special in town. Good service, attentive, but not over-bearing. I love the gate!
I recommend it – This place has good curries and tandoori stuff. I recommend to anybody into Indian food. It is better than the rest.
Great Food & Great Service – Awesome service. I had food catered for my Dad's 60th birthday party...The food was amazing and thanks to the manager Robin, the food was delivered hot, on time and with a smile. Hey Robin, you helped make this party a success. This place has really kicked up a notch with the new ownership. Friendly people and excellent food.
Excellent All Around – I've dined at several Indian restaurants, Gate Of India has the best samosa by far, and the entrees were top notch, Chicken Karahi was tender and cooked to perfection, Chicken and Shrimp Vindloo was better than great, prices were the same I've paid elsewhere 10 years ago, 3 entrees 2 appetizers 1 beer 1 tea rice and bread was $45, service was quick and friendly.
Best in the west – The best Indian Food I ever had. Hey guys, you got to check out the new menu, lamb chops, kesari shrimp and the tandoori chicken salad is awesome. This little hideout is definitely worth every penny.
User review by screw – The food was good! But personally I think the portion of the food is quite small,I mean you better order as an entree (w/rice, soup, dessert and tea)...I was a bit surprised when my three pieces of chicken tikka came as the appertizer...Overall, the food is delicious, I love the coconut curry and the garlic nann...Recommended
DEEELISH! – I've eaten here several times and cannot say enough about how flavorful their dishes are. Their Samosas are stuffed plump with fresh veggies. The mint sauce and spicy mango sauce that come gratis with your table naan, YUM! I personally love the cococut curry and the vegetable korma. Dress casual, but the ambience is fun. Wall to wall, ceiling to floor Indian tapestries, paintings, trinkets and displays. The service isn't speedy, but polite, very zen. Street parking or pay to park.
