okay – So sad that many people were having bad experiences with service! I hate to say it, but most indian restaurants I go to seem to have a stuck up waiting staff. I don't know why that is. The service wasn't too bad. The staff was attentive and refilled our water when needed. But I did find a eyelash in my rice. GROSS. I don't know why it is, and hate generalizing, but I do find trouble with hygene sanitary conditions when dealing with the indian culture as well. Bad bad rude gross but they have parking! – Bad service, bad policy on no sharing of the menu items, overcharged for rice and naan THEN as I'm slurping down the last of my mango lasse I find a bug leg floating around inside with joints carpals and all!!!!!!!! Vomit
Worst. Service. Ever. – It pains me to say this because I have loved Gate of India's food for years, but it cannot be denied: the service here is the worst service I have ever had dining in Los Angeles. I recently brought several friends here for lunch and our waiter barely acknowledged our presence. Very Nice Owner – We arrived close to closing time and they stayed open late for us which was very nice of the owner. The chicken coconut curry was amazing!
SLOW service, RUDE Waiter – My fiance and I decided to try this place for lunch today. We arrived at 2:30 just in time for the lunch special. We were greeted by a grumpy host who took us to a booth without place settings. He never brought them - we had to walk over and ask when our salads came. There were only 3 diners in the restaurant at the time, so it was not busy. Great price, amazing food, lots of vegetarian options, HUGE portions. – My friends ordered from this place for take-out one night, and I made the mistake of not ordering anything for myself! The food was so delicious I ended up mooching off of everyone else's plates. I finally had the chance to try it again tonight, and the food is even better than I remember. Amazing food – I have been a regular at Gate of India ever since I moved to Hollywood 4 years ago. This is my goto place for heartwarming Indian food. My usual Chicken Sag and Peshwari Naan.
We loved it – We were recommended this place by friends. Being from NY, we love Indian food and we really enjoyed it. Got basic stuff, samosas, Chicken Tikka Masala, Paneer Korma. Nice flavor . Tried other joints in the neighborhood, this was definitely the best. We will recommend it to others.
