I just finished my ninth trip with Gate 1 to Ireland. Our tour manager, John Burns, did a terrific job in sheperding 39 of through Ireland in a week, always on time and on schedule. Our driver, Tony Davis, was responsible, courteous, and always had our safety in mind. John was a wonderful guide and his short lectures on today's Ireland and its history were comprehensive and erudite. My friends and I enjoyed our week very much. Really enjoying our SA classic tour. Andrew Penn has been amazing. Wealth of knowledge, patient, understanding and able keep our group of 39 on time, safe and fully informed the entire trip. Not done yet but really amazing. We’ve done 4 gate one trips and the guides get better and better. True testimony that you hire amazing locals that truly know their city’s and cultures.

It's our last day of the 9 day Enchanted Italy tour and we could not be happier with our vacation. The local guides were all very interesting experts who you could feel really loved their areas, our bus driver was wonderful at getting us around, and our tour director Francesco was the very, very best! it was a very good combination of tour and free time. Thanks for a wonderful time!
We just got home from a Gate 1 trip to Portugal. The guide was not very engaging. He did his job to get paid, however, he had been a guide for a very long time and there was definitely a vibe of irritation and impatience. For example, we had diet restrictions in our group that he was aware of and did little to nothing to accommodate, unless pushed. Also, there was an elderly woman in our group that he was patronizing towards. Towards the end of the trip, my husband's mom died unexpectedly and the guide did nothing to help us... read more
Our second trip to Vietnam was outstanding. Our tour guide was excellent. Well organized trip. First trip in Thailand was also well organized. Our third trip is in the Amazon in Ecuador. We look forward to other trips.
Took our first trip with them and we couldn't have been happier. Much better experience than with other lower cost companies. Gate One has so many incredible deals to so many incredible places that we have booked five more trips with them over the next year.
