RecommendedWe did enjoy our Costa Rica tour with Gate1travel and highly recommended it to anyone. The booking process was easy and smooth, the tour guides and bus drivers were fantastic, and the trip price was right. We will never use Gate 1 again. Their customer service is terrible. Either non responsive or useless at best. We have travelled with Gate 1 in the past and had great experiences. If your trip has no no problems, you will probably have a good time. If you run into an issue, you are screwed. After our trip was canceled due to covid we requested a refund. We were told they could not refund the credit card, and had to send a check instead. The then said it would take 3-4 WEEKS for the check to arrive! After 4 weeks, no check came and we called back. They said it should have arrived and verified my address (it was correct). They claim they canceled the first check and would send another and that I would AGAIN need to wait 3-4wks. I’m in the 3rd week now and NO CHECK! I want my money refunded
I traveled for 2 weeks in 2017 all around France with this company. The entire trip was great including our guide and driver.

I'm pretty impressed with the way they handled my COVID-related cancellation. They were prompt and factual giving the information they had at the time they had it. It was everyone's first pandemic. I look forward to spending my full travel credits and using them again in the future.
