She was referred to us by DHS and I went reluctantly at first, but as I saw dramatic improvement first in my son and then my own ability to deal with trauma and triggers I am now enthusiastic in my recommending her as a trauma and adoption counselor. I have no doubt she has enabled our family to bond and grow emotionally stronger in the two years that we have been using her service.
Working with Gail has been an excellent experience for me. I have recommended her to family and friends over the years. I feel that our work together has truly saved my life. I believe that Gail truly cares about her patients and that shows in the way that she listens and works diligently to help her patients find health.
Gail is an amazing therapist with a great skill set. Her techniques work so well! She is incredibly knowledgable and patient. I feel so much more confident as a parent after working with Gail and have a greater sense of self. I also was so lucky to have her as an established provider when my 6 year old was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. I was an emotional mess, to say the least and just one session with Gail helped me find a place and strength, peace and calmness.
Gail Hardman-Woung was a lifeline for my family. Positive and no-nonsense, she gave me the tools to create a safe and healthy family. She is an adoptive mother herself, so as a client you feel understood and supported in a profound and empowering way. Lucky and grateful to have found her!
She has a technique that can help many, yet be harmful to others. Her method is to treat the parents, yet my child really needs help and she unfortunately, did not see it. My child is in a dangerous mental state and she could not help and offered her opinion which was damaging. She has great tools and i am sure she is very helpful to bring balance in the home, yet be careful and trust your parental 'knowing'.
Very helpful and insightful about particular issues and concerns of all members of the adoption triad. As an adoptive Mom, I so appreciate Gail's honest appraisal of the issues I've been dealing with and her sharing of her considerable personal experience as an adoptive Mom herself. She was also of tremendous help to our adopted child who counseled with her.
Gail was very knowledgeable and was comforting and positive. She exceeded my expectations and I hope to see her again in the future.
Gail is a no nonsense, roll up your sleeves, and get to work kind of counselor. When I first met her I thought she was going to be my daughter's therapist. She said to me, Wow! You're a mess! Are you ready to get to work? Indeed I was. I think her approach is much better than sitting on someone's couch for 12 years not getting any better.
Gail has been a tremendous help to myself and my kids in working through a variety of adoption related issues over the last four years. Her experience and insights have brought a much deeper level of understanding of and ability to subsequently help in supporting my kids needs.
