Regards to Mellisa G's comment Dr. McCarthy of Ford veterinary is certainly a good vet but only cares about getting his next paycheck. Multiple times he has disregarded things me and my g/f has said or asked about our animals. One of the times we asked a question about our dogs intestinal problems, he replied that our dog was fine and he(the Dr.) was to busy that day to run further tests. Our dog died one week later, and they refused to do an x-ray or tests to see what had happened to him. I believe they refused to give the ... read more
Great Vet Dr. Mike is a vet that truly cares and loves all animals. His staff are very caring as well. I would not take my border collies any where else. He correctly diagnosed by over weight border collie with a thyroid condition. Since Julliette has started on her meds she is losing weight and is a different dog. She has energy and acts like a puppy again. I Love Dr. Mike and his staff! Great vet that explains everything throughly and never rushes you. He answers all questions and shows compassion and patience.
Wonderful place This animal hospital was recommended to me for vet care when my regular vet is not open (for emergencies) or for when it is a complex problem. I took my kitty here and they were extremely helpful and you could really tell that they liked animals a lot and cared what they were doing. No Doodling I Personally do not like Dr.Mike's. Dr.Mike is to much of a character. The dry Erase board and Doodling is so annoying.If you have gone here you know what I'm talking about. He is the most expensive vet I have ever gone to.Besides and Emergency vet. But,they are friendly.My Dog does not like Dr Mike, They always said oh here comes trouble or something like that.They made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable.So I found a better vet .
Killed our cat. Perforated our old cat's intestines with a thermometer, then didn't tell us he did anything. She required, and received surgery (elsewhere obviously) even though it still presented a high mortality rate. Had to be put to sleep. Have friends that went to him who also had terrible experiences, euthanized their dog without consent. We've been at Ford for 11 years and we LOVE McCarthy, he actually cares and is honest.
Best vet in the area! I have had Dr. Mike for all of my pets over the last 7 years. I had a puppy with kidney disease that 3 local vets told me to put to sleep. Dr. Mike knew of new testing, and care, that other local vets hadn't even heard of. He kept my dog healthy and alive for 6 long years, which a healthy Dogue de Bordeaux has a life expectancy of 10 years. Whenever I've had a problem he has seen my animals the same day. Dog Owner Best experience ever! They took time to fully explain about what was wrong and why. When I left, I was very confident my dog was in good hands. Tons cheaper than Ford! Plus the entire staff is friendly.
Excellent pet care Dr. Mike was recommended to me by my shih tzu's groomer when I mentioned to her that I was unhappy with my current vet. My dog had been treated multiple times for UTI's over a period of time with antibiotics. Upon taking x-rays of Reba, Dr. Mike found stones that required an operation.
Awesome Vet - Great Service Everyone at Dr. Mike's Furry Friends has a love for animals and it shows in the care that my pets receive. I have two cats and black lab and they all go to Dr. Mike. They are all about taking care of the animals, not trying to sell you on stuff you do not need. Dr. Mike is down to earth and explains everything in layman's terms. I wouldn't go anywhere else!
